    Brovalliya.

    Brovalliya (Browallia) - is an annual shrub with elegant tubular flowers. Brovalliya refers to the Solanaceae family (Solanaceae), is common in Central and South America. The name of the plant is named after the Swedish bishop John. Brovallya, a friend of Carolus Linnaeus.

    Brovalliya

    Brovallii species can reach meters in height; derived compact garden forms a height of about 20-35 cm. flowers are formed in the leaf axils; leaves of brovally about 5 cm long, different shades of green depending on the species. Thin, slightly drooping shoots brovally entirely covered with tubular-funnel-shaped flowers in the shape of stars. The color palette in the color of flowers - from snow-white, blue, blue to purple shades. Tall brovallii used for garden decoration and cutting, undersized can be grown as potted plants.

    Most often, there are species in the culture:

    • Brovalliya beautiful (B. speciosa) - a large single purple flowers, decorated with a white throat;

    • Brovalliya Grandiflora (B.grandiflora) - famous for white or pale blue flowers, gathered in loose racemes;

    • Brovalliya pubescent, or the American (B. demissa) - florifeorus with a single blue or purple flowers, reaching a diameter of 2.5 cm;

    • Brovalliya sticky (B. viscosa) - much-forms, sticky stems, bushes profusely covered with small white, blue or purple flowers.

    Brovalliya - very unpretentious annual. Basic care for this plant is the periodic removal of faded flowers and old yellowed leaves. The garden is blooming profusely and brovalliya long until frost. From time to time the ends of the shoots pinch to increase branching (but be careful: the plant is poisonous!). Responds well to pruning brovalliya old long shoots. For a more decorative and splendor of some bushes brovallii placed in one pot; and the garden planted plants group.

    Brovalliya light-requiring, but can not stand the bright blazing sun (recommended pritenenie summer afternoons). This plant is undemanding to soil, water-loving. Summer brovalliyu watered abundantly, in the winter - rare (may rot the roots).

    Brovalliya prefers moderate temperature content (15-18 degrees in the summer - more than 20 degrees); winter needs in a cool (10-15 degrees). In too warm place brovallii leaves turn yellow and dry, buds and flowers produced little, the plant quickly becomes decorative. Of dry air on the leaves may appear whitefly and spider mites; Jose scale possible.

    Brovalliya propagated vegetatively (by cuttings can be propagated throughout the year) and seeds. Seeds are planted at different times (winter, spring or summer). From the time of sowing depends flowering period brovally: for early flowering in the garden seeds sown seedlings in February, to grow in the room - in August. In room culture brovalliya beautiful blooms year round, and large-and brovalliya brovalliya sticky - from November to January. In winter, place the pots should be on a light box, or do not manage to get a compact bushes. They do not need to transplant (after completion of flowering brovalliyu discarded).

    Brovallii seeds for seedlings sown in the bowl and do not cover land, crops sprayed from a spray; bowl cover glass and placed on a light box. Glass daily wipe condensation, air crops. At a temperature of 20-25 degrees shoots appear after 2 weeks.

    Brovalliyu you can sow in the spring once in the open ground. To enhance germination and accelerate germination, the seeds before sowing, pre-soaked in warm water for 48 hours. For more early flowering can sow brovalliyu first in a greenhouse, and at the end of spring frost to plant plants on a constant - they will bloom all summer until autumn frosts. During flowering brovalliya needs fertilizer for flowering plants; dressing introduced every 10-14 days.

    Brovalliya looks good in pots at home, but it is probably better suited to the balcony content than for indoor cultivation. And on the south or west balcony, if it is not obscured by trees, it will be too hot on sunny days. Best for brovallii place - a balcony on the east side. When grown at home or on the balcony brovalliya needs spraying.

    If you grow from seed brovalliyu to decorate a balcony or loggia, then make the seedlings to a permanent detention is necessary only when the threat of spring frost has passed. Brovalliya will decorate your balcony abundant blooms all season, up until the autumn frosts.
